Two decades before Baby Boomers were a hot topic at professional meetings and conferences, Dick Ambrosius was promoting the power of positive aging and encouraging companies to embrace ageless marketing. Ambrosius has a unique understanding of the new consumer majority and how it will change pretty much everything in the coming decades. This wisdom and experience is what sets Positive Aging apart.

Dick began advocating for ageless marketing in 1981 by forming one of the first full service marketing consulting firms to specialize in middle age and older adult markets. This lead to his selection as South Dakota's  Entrepreneur of the Year in 1997 by Entrepreneur Magazine. He is a sought after public speaker, strategist and storyteller who has served clients in 49 states; educated and entertained thousands; conducted focus groups for and consulted with a wide variety of businesses, corporations, nonprofit organizations, associations and government agencies.


Dick began a career in aging services as Executive Director of an Area Agency on Aging in Northwest Iowa. In 1980, he was appointed by President Ronald Reagan as the youngest member of the National Advisory Committee to the 1981 White House Conference on Aging, which he attended as a delegate and committee keynote speaker. In 2004, he was appointed  as a delegate-at- large for the 2005 White House Conference on Aging, which he served as a blogger.


In 1993, he co-founded The Society, an international think tank group, with the late David B. Wolfe, a visionary author and mature consumer behavior specialist. This invitation only group of professionals meets twice a year to learn from each other and advance ageless marketing and purposeful aging. In addition to authoring training manuals and materials for clients, Dick is the author Changes & Choices . . . a primer on life planning, and The Art of the Positive . . . tapping the power of an inclusionary vocabulary.
